Economy Minister: Along with ensuring economic growth, creating new jobs, reducing poverty remain priorities in 2026
Summing up 2025, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, emphasized USD 6.6 billion investment of historic scale, which will be used on the development of large-scale projects in Tbilisi and Gonio.
According to the Minister, the project will create an additional 24, 000 jobs, while the budget will receive more than 700 million in revenue annually, which will directly affect the prosperity of every citizen in the country.
Mariam Kvrivishvili accentuated the completed railway modernization project, which will boost the country’s transit and logistic function. She accentuated the progress of tourism and aviation sectors, operations of international airports (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi) and pledged to continue negotiations with international air companies for more direct flights to operate in Georgia.
Mariam Kvrivishvili said she looked to positive expectations in 2026.
“Our ambitions are to have a better year in 2026. Along with ensuring economic growth, creating new jobs, reducing poverty, and increasing the well-being of the population remain priorities in 2026,” she said, naming completion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, construction of Anaklia Deep Sea Port and the development of the energy sector.
