Economy Minister addresses SDGs in Action 2024 summit in Dubai

Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, addressed the SDGs in Action 2024 World Government Summit in Dubai, UAE.

Addressing the international leaders, Levan Davitashvili stressed that the current situation in the world is complex, while the aspiration for rapid development is both a national and common responsibility.

The UN General Assembly resolution, “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” entered into force in October 2015. The resolution outlines 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and economic, social, and environmental issues. Georgia was one of the first countries to join the resolution.

“Despite significant progress driven by the spirit of the SDGs, which seek a sustainable interaction between economic growth, human development and the environment, the Georgian government is determined to pay due attention to inequalities in Georgian society and strengthen efforts to achieve the SDGs,” Davitashvili said.
