EBU delegation visits Georgian Public Broadcaster's new headquarters
Representatives of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have visited the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) as part of the Junior Eurovision 2025.
GPB’s Director General, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, together with members of management, hosted the EBU representatives.
The European Broadcasting Union representatives toured GPB’s new building, including the news and current affairs studios, radio facilities and various programme studios, and familiarised themselves with staff operations.
According to Tinatin Berdzenishvili, representatives of the European Broadcasting Union and heads of foreign television companies praised GPB’s new building highly.
“EBU management, heads of various television companies, directors general and production teams have come as part of Junior Eurovision. Everyone is visiting in stages to see our new building, because truly, this is something of an installation, an example for the region and beyond. Many European television stations lack the kind of infrastructure that we now have here in Georgia. We are very proud of the feedback we are receiving, and this stands as one of the most positive assessments of our television industry,” stated Tinatin Berdzenishvili.
According to Jean Philip De Tender, First Deputy Director General and Media Director of the European Broadcasting Union, the Georgian Public Broadcaster’s new building is very impressive.
“I think this is an amazing building. It is really smartly designed, both in its construction and in the way the technology has been integrated. I think it is such a nice place for people to work, and I think that creative people really deserve such a place, because such a place really inspires them to develop more beautiful stories,” Jean Philip De Tender stated.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an international music competition organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for young performers aged 9 to 14. Georgia has won the competition four times, more than any other nation, cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in the contest. The country previously hosted the event in 2017.
