Droa’s Khoshtaria: I share Salome Zourabichvili’s spirit; let us think about what decisions we shall take once this illegitimate government is gone

“I fully support President Salome Zourabichvili’s initiative to establish a special state fund to fund treatment for children’s diseases, using money stolen from the state budget,” reads a post by Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the Droa party, published on her Facebook page.

“I likewise share her spirit: that we must begin thinking about what decisions we shall take once this illegitimate government is gone, and the filth they have committed rises to the surface,” Khoshtaria writes.

For reference, former President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili wrote on social media: “The Georgian Charter may well need updating, though as yet no one has put forward a concrete proposal, nor has anyone withdrawn their signature. For the time being, it remains a consolidating document, a plan of action that must define the initial common course of action upon the fall of this regime and the victory of the resistance front. I wish to propose two significant changes, or additions, to all signatories: alongside the first two priorities, which are the immediate release of prisoners of conscience and political prisoners, and the repeal of all anti-European and anti-Georgian legislation, a third must be inscribed: the immediate state funding of medication for children suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A special state fund must be established, into which monies stolen from the budget through corruption, rigged tenders, and other such means shall be deposited, and these funds shall be directed as a priority towards financing a state oncology centre for children in Georgia, as well as the treatment costs for every possible childhood disease. In other words, the money stolen by so many swindlers and corrupt politicians must be devoted to the healthy lives of our future generations. I trust this matter will find acceptance with all, and will further strengthen our unity!”
