“Green passports” should be given to those who have been infected with Covid in the last 6 months, but I apologize to those who have been infected with Covid before that and want to have extended rights, they will remain dissatisfied,” said Director of the Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases, Tengiz Tsertsvadze.

As Tsertsvadze noted, after having been infected with coronavirus, the person’s immunity lasts for an average of 6 months.

“I unequivocally support the idea that not all persons who have ever been infected with coronavirus should have “green passports”. Immunity lasts an average of 6 months.

It would be justified if the necessary condition for a person to get the “green passport” is his/her history of being infected with coronavirus for the last 6 months, together with the vaccination and the PCR test, as it is abroad.

Would not it be strange to require Georgian citizens to have one passport for abroad, and another passport for domestic consumption?!”  said Tengiz Tsertsvadze.

The European Union (EU) has recognized the Covid-certificate issued in Georgia at the Eastern Partnership Ministerial meeting in Brussels, the Georgian government announced on November 15. From December 1, people in Georgia will need their Covid Certificates to enter a bulk of venues across Georgia.
