Deputy Minister of Economy meets Saudi Arabia Deputy Tourism Minister

Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili met the Deputy Minister for Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Sultan M. al Musallam within the framework of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The sides spoke about prolific cooperation in tourism and civil aviation spheres that contributed to the increase of tourist flows from Saudi Arabia to Georgia. Currently, nine flights per week are carried out from Saudi Arabia in the direction of Georgia.

According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, Saudi Arabia is Georgia’s one of the strategic markets.

“We conduct active and targeted marketing campaigns in Saudi Arabia, where interest in Georgia gradually increases. People in Saudi Arabia like our nature, cuisine, traditions and other attractions and are happy to pay tourist visits to Georgia,” she said.

At the meeting, the sides also agreed on future cooperation in tourism, civil aviation and other priority areas.
