Deputy Minister of Economy meets Chief Executive Officer of Turkish Airlines
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, met Chief Executive Officer of Turkish Airlines, Murat Şeker, during her visit to Turkiye.
Ongoing issues of bilateral cooperation and future plans were reviewed during the meeting. Ioseliani noted that Georgia is emerging as one of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the region, driven by aviation liberalization policies, infrastructure modernization, and compliance with international aviation standards.
She stressed that through consistent policy, the Georgian government increased passenger flows, diversified air routes and continues to develop airport infrastructure.
According to Tamar Ioseliani, 2025 was a record year for the Georgian aviation sector – all three international airports in the country served more than 8.5 million passengers, which is a 14% increase compared to the previous year.
The parties reviewed plans for the summer tourist season and regional challenges.
