Deputy Justice Minister says international court decisions bolster Georgia's position in Geneva
The Geneva Negotiations have special significance in addressing violations of human rights and international law in the occupied territories and along the occupation line. It is the fastest response format, Deputy Minister of Justice Beka Dzamashvili stated in Geneva, where the 58th round of negotiations is underway.
Dzamashvili pointed out that the Strasbourg and the Hague courts aided Georgia in the negotiations, as these decisions determined that Russia solely bears responsibility for violations during the 2008 war.
“With these decisions, we no longer need to discuss individual violations and incidents, but can automatically affirm that this is a systemic problem. Russian policy issues must be addressed systematically, and international court decisions must be implemented,” Dzamashvili stated.
