Deputy Justice Minister, Deputy Prosecutor General review diversion, mediation issues
Deputy Minister of Justice Giorgi Dgebuadze engaged with Deputy Prosecutor General Amiran Guluashvili to review diversion and mediation program-related issues.
The meeting focused on the need to develop a policy document in the field of diversion and mediation, to strengthen human resources and rehabilitation capacities, and to improve data exchange and processing systems.
Deputy Minister and Deputy Prosecutor General accentuated the significance to intensify inter-institutional and multidisciplinary coordination in the mediation process. They highlighted the necessity to hold joint training to raise awareness in society.
Nika Tskhvarashvili, Head of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Execution of Non-custodial Sentences and Probation, and Miranda Melkadze, Head of the Department for Supervision of Prosecutorial Activities and Strategic Development at the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, attended the meeting.
