Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia said the activeness for registration and booking of Covid-19 vaccine shots indicated that mass immunization in the country would begin in the 3rd or 4th quarter. The preference fixed by citizens would determine which vaccines Georgia would import in the future.
Gabunia said that negotiations were ongoing with vaccine producers among them with AstraZeneca and Pfizer. She claimed that Georgia expected a response about import of additional batch of Pfizer jabs in the nearest future.
Deputy Health Minister also commented about the increased daily coronavirus cases in the country. Tamar Gabunia said that expanded testing served as one of main means to protect from spread of the virus by asymptomatic persons.
