Deputy FM addresses UN Forum, condemning Russian occupation of Georgian territories

Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia, has participated in the ministerial segment of the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) and addressed the assembly, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Minister highlighted the severe humanitarian consequences of Russia’s illegal occupation of Georgia’s Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions.

“Lasha Darsalia spoke on the vital role of global cooperation and effective multilateralism in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He outlined the steps taken and milestones achieved by the Georgian Government in implementing the 2030 Agenda, whilst also highlighting the significance of the UN Public Service Forum hosted by Georgia in 2026,” the Ministry’s statement read.
