Deputy Finance Minister: Intensive collaboration with ministries underway to finalise 2026 budget draft

Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze has announced that extensive efforts are currently underway with various ministries to finalise the draft of the 2026 state budget.

He explained that both the amendments to the 2025 budget and the final version of the 2026 budget will be submitted to Parliament within the next two weeks.

“The draft state budget for 2026 is based on an expected 5% economic growth. At this stage, we are working closely with ministries and committees across several sectors to refine the final version. The 2026 budget is also contingent upon the parameters set in the 2025 budget. We anticipate that some adjustments will be necessary for the 2025 budget. In approximately two weeks, we will present Parliament with both the amendments to the 2025 budget and the final draft of the 2026 budget. This will incorporate most of the proposals and comments received during the parliamentary review.

We aim to incorporate all initiatives and suggestions proposed by Parliament into the 2026 budget. In most cases, funding allocations for agencies are set to increase. The Ministry of Infrastructure, in particular, is a key driver for future economic growth. Significant progress is being made on specific projects, and I am confident that the final version will also feature several new initiatives, with funding for these set to begin next year. Consequently, the final draft will outline all major priorities that can be financed from 2026,” Kakauridze stated.
