Deputy Environment Protection and Agriculture Minister elected UNEA-8 Vice-President

First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili, was elected Vice-President and Representative of Eastern European Countries of the Eighth UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-8) for a second term.

The decision was made at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, within the UNEA-7 framework.

“It is a great honor for me to be elected for a second term on behalf of Georgia to the highest UN platform, which sets the environmental agenda at the global level. As Vice President, I will do my utmost on behalf of my country and region to ensure that our priorities for environmental protection and sustainable management of ecosystems are heard at the highest UN platform,” Nino Tandilashvili said.

On the sideline of the UNEA-7, Nino Tandilashvili participated in various panel discussions and committees’ work.
