Deputy Economy Minister meets representatives of international consultancy conducting feasibility study for new Tbilisi airport

Work is actively progressing on the preparation of a feasibility study for Tbilisi’s new international airport, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The study is being carried out by the international consulting firm Amd.Sigma Strategic Airport Development GmbH. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani held a meeting with representatives of the company.

According to the Ministry of Economy, discussions focused on the optimal development model for the new Tbilisi International Airport, with particular emphasis placed on key avenues of future cooperation.

As part of their visit, the Amd.Sigma team will hold meetings with representatives from various state agencies, as well as airlines and organisations operating at Tbilisi International Airport.

Amd.Sigma was selected via an international tender conducted by the Asian Development Bank. Based in Berlin, the international consultancy specialises in strategic airport development, master planning, and feasibility studies.

Since 2019, Amd.Sigma has been part of Munich Airport International (MAI), delivering airport development projects worldwide by leveraging the expertise and global resources of the Munich Airport Group.

The meeting with company representatives at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development was also attended by Deputy Finance Minister Eka Guntsadze and Head of the United Airports of Georgia Levan Moseshvili.
