Deputy Economy Minister: Development of cross-border electricity transmission infrastructure further strengthens Georgia's transit potential
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Bulgaria on Thursday signed memorandum on strengthening cooperation in green electricity transmission.
Deputy economy minister Vakhtang Tsintsadze, who signed the memorandum on behalf of Georgia, believes cooperation between the four countries “will further deepen.”
“It will further strengthen Georgia’s transit potential and facilitate the export of electricity produced in the country through alternative routes, as well as increase the country’s energy security and energy market diversification,” the Deputy Minister noted.
The parties expressed their desire to implement new energy infrastructure projects and promote green electricity trade, both among the memorandum member countries and with neighboring countries.
