Delegation of German Bundeswehr pays a 3-day working visit to Georgia
The delegation of the German Bundeswehr (unified armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany) led by Hendrik Ploß, a senior medical officer in the German Bundeswehr, who serves as a commander of the Sanitätsregiment 3 in Dornstadt, is paying a 3-day working visit to Georgia.
According to the German Embassy in Georgia, the visit takes place within the framework of the joint annual program, based on the agreement on military cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of Georgia and Germany.
The visit aims to familiarize the participants with the “Role 2 Forward” (Role 2F) military-medical capability of the Georgian Defence Forces. The Role 2F medical unit provides emergency medical care to the wounded and injured in field conditions, including surgical intervention and patient stabilization, prior to their subsequent medical evacuation.
The parties will exchange experience and best practices. Germany supervises the “Military Medical Capabilities Development Initiative” operating within the framework of the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP). The initiative aims to further develop the military medical capabilities of the Georgian Defence Forces and ensure the interoperability of relevant medical facilities with NATO standards.
