Dekanoidze calls frivolous State Security Service's claims on coups

Opposition MP Khatia Dekanoidze has called the recent statements from the head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, outdated and frivolous.

Liluashvili had claimed that evidence proving a planned violent coup in 2023 had appeared publicly, with additional materials pending release.

Dekanoidze criticized these claims, noting such recurring statements lack seriousness.

“This is an outdated and frivolous statement. During the past 12 years, we have seen many similar statements about alleged coup scenarios. I do not take this statement seriously. No investigation has been concluded with concrete results since there is no such issue,” said Khatia Dekanoidze.
