Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani met with Chief of the Hungarian General Staff, Gábor Böröndi, who arrived in Georgia for an official visit.
During the meeting, the participants discussed regional security challenges and the positive developments in defence cooperation, emphasising the importance of the joint declaration on strategic partnership. Irakli Chikovani expressed his gratitude to the guest for Hungary’s steadfast support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
An official welcome ceremony was held at the Georgian Defence Forces, hosted by Chief of Defence Forces, General-Lieutenant Giorgi Matiashvili, in honour of Gábor Böröndi. He expressed gratitude to the guest for Hungary’s support in implementing the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) and discussed prospects for further strengthening cooperation in military education, training, and medical services.
