“The Army Camp is one of the most successful initiatives we have in place for our youth,” stated the Minister of Defence of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, during the official opening ceremony of the camp.

The Minister noted that interest in the Army Camp is steadily growing and that the project is being successfully implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. He expressed his gratitude to the President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Parliament for their ongoing attention and support of the Defence Forces. Furthermore, Irakli Chikovani highlighted the Georgian Orthodox Church’s significant contribution to the project.

“I want to thank every sergeant, officer, and representative of the Sachkhere Mountain Training School and the Kojori Sergeants School, all those who care for our youth firsthand. This is a unique opportunity for these young people to experience the daily lives of our soldiers and officers, and to truly understand what it means to serve one’s homeland.

Alongside this, they gain experience, receive education in specific fields, and deliberate on fundamental values such as our homeland, patriotism, national values, the sanctity of the family, and, of course, our identity,” the Minister noted.

Irakli Chikovani added that the young participants gain a unique experience at the Army Camp and return home with lasting impressions.

“This initiative serves to promote our military. I hope that the young people taking part in this Army Camp achieve success in whichever profession they choose. Beyond that, I hope some will choose to join our Defence Forces, experience life as an officer or a sergeant, and become a valued part of our military family.

Today, the Defence Forces enjoy tremendous backing, ensuring every soldier and officer has the opportunity to develop in all aspects. I am grateful for the support we continue to receive from the Prime Minister, the legislature, and the President,” the Defence Minister concluded.
