Davit Zalkaliani – Situation across occupied territories require immediate reaction of international community

Davit Zalkaliani, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister discussed the situation across Georgia’s occupied territories during presentation of the 17th consolidated report “Conflict in Georgia” by Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, at the 1314th sitting of Committee of Deputy Ministers of CoE.

Zalkaliani focused on the situation with respect to human rights across occupied territories, murder of Georgian soldier Archil Tatunashvili and latest abduction facts of Georgian locals.

He claimed that the situation across occupied territories required immediate reaction of international community and admission of international observers was needed onto the territories.

The report is about monitoring of commitments taken by the Russian Federation and Georgia in the aftermath of August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.

Georgian Foreign Ministry says that the consolidated report has full backing of member states and they express strong support to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.
