Culture Ministry: Over 85 thousand people visit Niko Pirosmani's exhibition

Over 85 thousand people visited the exhibition of Niko Pirosmani’s works (a well-known Georgian primitivist painter) at the Beyeler Foundation, the most visited museum of art in all of Switzerland, the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports reported.

The Ministry received a gratitude letter from the foundation which said that the exhibition was on for 18 weeks and most of the visitors had first learnt about the Georgian painter.

According to the Ministry, the exhibition received positive remarks from Financial Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Le Monde, Neue Zürcher Zeitung and other popular publications.

The exhibition was organized by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports in cooperation with the Beyeler Foundation, Louisiana Modern Art Museum and Infinite Arts.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the museums. At the initiative of the Beyeler Foundation, a multi-language interactive webpage will be created, which will be dedicated to Niko Pirosmani’s life and his art.
