Croatian State Secretary for European Affairs hopes to confirm Georgia's EU candidate status

“We hope we will be able to confirm Georgia’s EU candidate status. This would be yet another positive impulse for Georgia. You have really well deserved it,” said Andreja Metelko-Zgombic, State Secretary for European Affairs of Croatia.

Andreja Metelko-Zgombic urged Georgian people to continue their commitment to the European future.

“We would really invite Georgian people to continue being dedicated to your European future because you’ve gotten this decision already that your future lies within the EU. Now, you need to work on it. And I really do hope that in addition to deciding on open the accession talks with Ukraine, Moldova and Bosnia Hercegovina, we will be able to confirm Georgia’s EU candidate status. This would be yet another positive impulse for Georgia. And you have really well deserved it, and I think that would be a really positive message,” she said.
