CPPCC's Wang Huning: Georgia has made significant progress in its national development; Chinese side is very pleased
“In recent years, Georgia has made significant progress in terms of national development, and the Chinese side is very pleased by this,” declared Wang Huning, the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), following his meeting with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
He further stated that China is a true and trusted friend to Georgia.
“I extend to you my warmest greetings and am delighted to have the opportunity to speak with you. Georgia is situated at the junction of two continents. Since ancient times, it has been a significant crossroads of civilisations, cultures and trade between East and West. It has deep cultural roots. In recent years, Georgia has made significant progress in its national development, and the Chinese side is very pleased by this. China is a true, trusted and good friend to Georgia, and also a good partner in shared development and cooperation.
More than two thousand years ago, the historic Silk Road of friendship between China and Georgia brought our peoples together. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries over thirty-five years ago, bilateral ties have consistently progressed along a path of steady and sound development. China is prepared to work alongside all parties. Building upon the important agreements reached by the leaders of our two countries, we must cherish and develop cooperation across a wide range of fields, and actively promote the elevation of China-Georgia relations to a new level,” declared Wang Huning.
