Court Proceedings in case of actor Andro Chichinadze, Onise Tskhadadze

The substantive hearing continues at Tbilisi City Court in the case of actor Andro Chichinadze, Onise Tskhadadze, and nine other individuals charged with group violence.

At today’s session, the parties are discussing a motion to dismiss the public defenders appointed by the judge for the defendants during the previous hearing. All defendants in the proceedings have refused representation by court-appointed attorneys.

According to the defendants, they have private lawyers whom they trust. The public defenders have supported the defendants’ position, explaining that they have no opportunity to meet and communicate with their assigned clients.

Judge Nino Galustashvili denied the motion to dismiss the public defenders.
