Court discussing imposition of punishment to persons charged for abduction of young man
The Tbilisi City Court is discussing imposition of punitive measures to persons charged for the abduction of a young man.
The Prosecutor’s Office presented charges to three persons out of 10 people. Three people – Otar Geladze, Nika Kavtaradze, and Marina Esadze were released from the pre-trial isolator due to lack of pieces of evidence on October 19 as lawyers reported.
The 10-member criminal group was detained on October 18 on a charge of taking a hostage. The charge envisages from 9 to 14 years in prison.
The police released the hostage as a result of a special operation and returned him to the family safe.
Reportedly, the abduction was plotted by a husband and wife living in Moscow who returned to Georgia 1 week ago.
