Council of Europe discusses 16th consolidated report by Torbjorn Jagland ‘Conflict in Georgia’

The 16th consolidated report by European Council Secretary General Torbjorn Jagland was discussed at the European Council Deputy Ministers Committee session # 1299. The report title is ‘Conflict in Georgia’. 

According to Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the report includes the period from April 2017 including September 2017. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani took part in the discussion. 

As reported, the Secretary General focuses on complicated situation over security, human rights and humanitarian issues at Georgia’s occupied territories. 

The report puts an emphasis on the issues such as facts of destruction of Georgian residents’ houses, closing checkpoints, so-called borderization, etc.
