Constructive News Conference in Tbilisi

The Constructive News Conference is being held in the Tbilisi Radisson Hotel as part of Constructive Institute CEO Ulrik Haagerup’s visit to Georgia at the invitation of the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

The Constructive News Conference aims to introduce representatives from partner organizations to the constructive journalism approach that the Georgian Public Broadcaster already employs.

Members of international and media organizations, the Communications Regulatory Commission, university media department heads, and students are attending the conference. It will comprise a public lecture followed by a question-and-answer session.

Ulrik Haagerup, founder and CEO of the Constructive Institute and author of the book Constructive News, is in Georgia at the invitation of the Georgian Public Broadcaster. On the first day of his visit, Ulrik Haagerup held a workshop for GPB First Channel producers, editors, and journalists. The training encompassed both practical and theoretical knowledge exchange.

Eleven GPB journalists underwent training at the Constructive Institute in Denmark. By the end of the year, 18 GPB First Channel journalists will have graduated from the constructive journalism course.

The values of the public broadcaster define its need as an institution in a democratic society. Ecological media is a primary precondition for society’s sustainable development.
