Construction of Anaklia Deep Sea Port started

The 21st century’s major project for Georgia, which is the start for transforming Georgia into the country of transit, production, logistics and industry development – the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili assessed Anaklia Deep Sea Port Project at the construction start ceremony held today.

According to the governmental administration, the Prime Minister noted that this is a great transformation, beginning of major changes in the country.

The Prime Minister thanked Anaklia Development Consortium for conducting great works and noted that the project is implemented by  Georgian as well as several foreign companies including the American engineering company “Conti”, the port’s  operator company SSA Marine and with participation of investors from Uzbekistan. According to Kvirikashvili negotiations with China is underway.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, along with the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, participated in the opening ceremony of the Anaklia port construction works.
