According to the Ministry, the large-scale project will be implemented in the vicinity of Gedevanishvili Street on the so-called Arsenal Mount.

“The Government City project aims to increase accessibility to state services, create a united modern space, strengthen inter-institutional coordination and optimization, and hold events of state and public importance smoothly.

The master plan should comprise a functional arrangement of the territory, safe and rational development of transport and engineering infrastructure, full integration with the city network and landscape planning and arrangement related issues.

The project should define the zones for the location of the high representative and executive bodies, offices and open and closed spaces of central and sectoral state government agencies. It should include the parking area, recreational and green zones, auxiliary infrastructure for technical equipment and engineering communications.

The Government City territory will comprise the Parliament building, Government Administration, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Infrastructure, Regional Development, IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Economy and Sustainable Development, Education and Science, Culture and Youth Affairs. Additionally, it will accommodate the Tbilisi City Hall, State Security Special Service, Office of State Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality.

Pre-project studies will include a comprehensive examination of the territory and its constructions, topographic and geologic research, engineering communications analysis. The detailed information on the market research will be available on the official website of the Municipal Development Fund.
