Clergy and students involved in value-based education programme honoured at awards ceremony
The Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, has attended an awards ceremony celebrating the members of the clergy and students involved in the value-based education programme.
According to the Ministry of Education, Givi Mikanadze thanked the clergy for their vital contribution to raising the younger generation and strengthening value-based education. The Minister noted that the programme, run in partnership between the Patriarchate of Georgia and the Ministry, helps instil a sense of responsibility, respect, civic awareness, and patriotism in students. Currently, 175 clubs operate across 141 schools nationwide, engaging 4,375 students. The scheme is also delivered to young Georgians living in the occupied territory of Abkhazia and those residing abroad.
The Minister announced that the programme will continue to expand. To this end, 129 members of the clergy have already completed training and are set to launch new clubs this September.
During the event, both clergy and students were presented with certificates of appreciation. Members of the clergy were honoured for their outstanding contribution to the programme and youth development, while students were recognised for their active involvement in the clubs.
