Civil activists and members of the opposition parties’ youth wings are rallying at Tbilisi City Hall in the Georgian capital.
Protesters argue that Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, among others, should accept responsibility for the Vake Park tragedy.
“The whole City Hall, as well as Kaladze’s office, is involved in fraudulent dealings and tenders.” Unfortunately, such reckless behaviour has such repercussions,” said Nika Mosiashvili, a Girchi-More Freedom party member.
The police are stationed near Tbilisi City Hall.
On 13 October, three minors were electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the fountain. One died while two others were rushed to the hospital. Both have already been discharged from the hospital.
