Chair of Georgia-Turkmenistan Parliaments Friendship Group engages with Turkmen Ambassador

Chair of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Parliaments Friendship Group, Davit Matikashvili, engaged with Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Dovletmirat Seitmamedov, to review the scheduled visit of the Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Mejlis to Georgia.

According to Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan (the unicameral parliament), will visit Georgia at the end of February at the invitation of Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili.

“This visit is significant since it will be the first high-level visit from Turkmenistan to Georgia since our countries gained independence. Turkmenistan is an important partner of Georgia, and this country plays a key role in the implementation of the Middle Corridor project. I am confident that this visit will contribute to further deepening of Georgia-Turkmenistan relations,” Matikashvili said.
