Centre Empathy presents a study on June 20-21 events

The Centre Empathy hosted a presentation of a study that refers to the events that took place on June 20-21, 2019, in Tbilisi.

The mentioned study concerns the victims of the protest rally on June 20-21, as well as the legitimacy of the use of special police equipment. According to the study, statistical analysis of the data obtained shows that in 76% of cases there was inadequate use of rubber bullets, namely injuries to the upper part of the body, including the head and face, which in some cases led to the disability of peaceful protesters.

According to Marian Jishkariani, a representative of the Empathy centre, the events that happened on June 20-21 was evaluated as a particularly violent crime. According to her, a study was conducted by the Center Empathy with the support of the EU Delegation to Georgia and the Georgian Open Society Foundation.
