The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has announced the opening of seven additional polling stations abroad for the upcoming parliamentary elections on October 26.
This decision was prompted by updated information on Georgian voters residing overseas, which was compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other pertinent agencies.
Currently, 95,834 registered voters are eligible to cast their ballots from abroad.
The new polling stations will be established in the following locations: New York, USA; Berlin, Germany; Barcelona, Spain; Rome, Italy; Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece; and Paris, France.
“In total, 67 polling stations will be accessible to Georgian voters across 42 countries. According to Georgian election law, polling stations abroad must serve a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 3,000 voters registered with the consular service. The law does not outline additional regulations for the participation of Georgian citizens living abroad,” the CEC stated.
