CEC Chairman and Secretary meet newly appointed Adjara Supreme Election Commission Chair and regional leadership

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Giorgi Kalandarishvili and CEC Secretary Giorgi Javakhishvili met with the newly appointed Chairman of the Supreme Election Commission (SEC) of Adjara, Paata Keshelava. The senior CEC officials congratulated Keshelava on assuming his new mandate and wished him success in his post.

According to the CEC, the meeting took place at SEC headquarters. SEC board members, CEC member Giorgi Dzagania, Head of the Election Process Management Department Eka Tsabashvili, regional coordinators Zviad Teneishvili and Manuchar Gamkrelidze, and chairpersons of district election commissions from across the Autonomous Republic of Adjara attended it.

Giorgi Kalandarishvili stressed that such expanded format meetings are vital for streamlining operational coordination between central and regional electoral administrations. He noted that a core objective of the discussions was to reinforce cooperation between the CEC and the SEC while identifying new avenues for professional partnership.

Key agenda items included joint operational priorities, inter-agency communication strategies, and public awareness campaigns. The meeting focused on countering disinformation, disseminating verified electoral data, and integrating technological innovations and international best practices into local administration.

The parties agreed to maintain close, ongoing professional dialogue and hold joint working sessions regularly.
