Canadian and Czech athletes won Bakuriani Snowboard Cross Cup

The Snowboard Cross Small and Big finals took place in Bakuriani ski resort of Georgia on March 4.

Sixteen women and thirty-two men participated in the World Cup under the auspices of the International Ski Federation.

Canadian athlete Eliot Grondin crossed the finish line first, followed by Austrian Lukas Pachner. Italian snowboarder Lorenzo Sommariva won third place.

Czech Eva Samkova finished first and won gold among female athletes. The second place went to Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau from France and the third to Lindsey Jacobellis (USA).

Bakuriani is hosting a Snowboard cross test event for the 2023 FIS World Championships. The International Ski Federation (FIS) chose Bakuriani as host for the 2023 Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships back in 2018.
