112 emergency call center is receiving a high volume of calls due to the surging number of daily coronavirus cases, Public Safety Command Center 112 said on Sunday.
Amid a spike in call volume, up to 35% of calls within 24 hours were non-emergency, hindering the center’s work, noted the Safety Centre, urging the citizens to avoid such calls.
112 unifies three different services in Georgia:
- 112 – Emergency Response Center
- 112 1 – The patrol police, fire/rescue services
- 112 2 – COVID-19.
Those tested positive for coronavirus can call 112 2 or register at https://er.moh.gov.ge/. A family doctor will call after receiving the information. If the family doctor does not call within 48 hours, the coronavirus patients can call 1522 – Central Online Clinic or their insurance company, the center added.
