Business Association of Georgia releases statement regarding TBC Bank case
The Business Association of Georgia released a statement regarding TBC Bank case. The association confirms that the latest developments around the bank and its founders became known to the organization in January of 2019 and that representatives of the association held a meeting with Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.
“The information about financial inspection of the bank was unknown to association members. The meeting with Prime Minister was held afterward where association members underlined that it was the main objective to protect interests of its member company TBC Bank,” reads the statement.
Also, based on the statement, the Association expressed readiness to mediate between TBC Bank and the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The organization clarifies that banking activities are grounded on the image of the bank and it is important not to damage the reputation of TBC bank, especially under the conditions when the bank has both Georgian and foreign depositors.
