Bulgarian FM: Georgia is a Black Sea country and dialogue with it is key to regional security
Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova-Chamova, stated ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg that involving Georgia in discussions regarding Black Sea security is essential.
According to Petrova-Chamova, dialogue with Georgia remains pivotal for the region.
“I think it’s time to discuss where we are now and what role Georgia can play. For us, of course, Georgia is a Black Sea country, and it is very important to have it involved in a conversation about how we ensure Black Sea security,” Petrova-Chamova said.
“So we need to think carefully about the sectoral areas in which its role would be important, and discussion with Georgia is key. I think it’s a good time for us to start talking about it.”
