Broadcasting Legislation Amendment is being discussed at the Parliament of Georgia by the second hearing.
The idea of amendments was presented by the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Eka Beselia.
According to the lawmaker, as a result of consultations, one of the articles was corrected in the legislative package.
The Public Broadcaster is authorized to apply the revenues defined by the Georgian legislation, including the assignments received from the state budget to encourage start-up enterprises, TV-Radio and online products, innovative development, and promote environmental development in the field of broadcasting.
The following added to the norm, based on these purposes mentioned above, the decision on funding
will be made by the Board of Trustees on the basis of the Director General’s submission,– explained Eka Beselia.
Parliament approved Broadcasting Legislation Amendment with the first hearing.
