Border Police detain two foreign nationals for illegal border crossing

Officers of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained two foreign nationals, born in 1990 and 1999, on illegal border crossing at the Sarphi border checkpoint.

The investigation determined that the detained individuals, bypassing the border checkpoint, illegally crossed the Georgian state border from Turkiye in a group.

Further investigation is in progress under Part 2, Paragraph A, Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. They face 5 years in prison.
