Border Police detain two foreign nationals for crossing state border unlawfully in a group

Officers of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), through operative and investigation measures conducted at the Sarphi border sector, detained two foreign nationals, born in 1986 and 1981, for crossing the state border unlawfully in a group.

According to the Border Police, the detained individuals attempted to enter Georgian territory from Turkiye by bypassing the border checkpoint.

The investigation is underway under Part 2 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for up to 5 years.
