Azerbaijan’s President ratifies energy agreement for electricity supply and transit to Georgia
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has ratified an agreement on the supply of electricity to Georgia.
President Aliyev signed the decree approving the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Georgia on the Supply of Electricity to Georgia and the Transit of Electricity through Georgia, which was originally executed on May 18, 2026, in Baku.
Under the terms of the decree, following the formal entry into force of the agreement, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall ensure the implementation of its provisions. Concurrently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan is tasked with notifying the Government of Georgia of the completion of the domestic legal procedures required for the enactment of the accord.
