Azerbaijan's Energy Minister announces SOCAR’s investments in Georgia reach USD 2.1 billion

“SOCAR’s investments in Georgia have now reached USD 2.1 billion,” Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced.

Azerbaijan’s minister stated that discussions today in Tbilisi, during a meeting with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, centred on the strategic energy partnership and the development of new, mutually beneficial projects.

“Total investments by SOCAR in Georgia amount to USD 2.1 billion. In the first nine months of this year, the country received 1.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas, while electricity exports reached 372 million kWh,” Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister said.
