Armenian PM Pashinyan: Armenia and Georgia’s relations are strategic, fraternal, and independent of third parties

“The relations between Armenia and Georgia do not depend on third parties and will continue to be strategic, fraternal in nature in the future,” said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Armenian media, Pashinyan made this statement during a briefing in response to remarks by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who stated that “the European Union will not be able to influence Armenian-Georgian relations.”

When asked by a journalist about the situation, Pashinyan emphasised Georgia’s significant role in Armenian-European Union relations.

“Georgia plays a very important and key role in Armenian-European relations, and we are very concerned about the current situation. We believe that this situation must be resolved,” Pashinyan stated.

However, he underscored that Armenian-Georgian relations are entirely separate from their dealings with other countries or international organisations; they are rooted in longstanding, strategic, and fraternal ties, which will remain so in the future.

“There simply cannot be another scenario,” the Armenian Prime Minister affirmed.
