Ambassador Zhou Qian: I don't think Congressman Wilson represents U.S. policy; We are not interested in his remarks

“I do not think that Congressman Wilson represents the policy of the United States, and we are not interested in his remarks,” said Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian

According to the Chinese Ambassador, Georgia-China friendship and cooperation are not part of any alliance or target of any third country.

“Frankly speaking, we are not interested in the remarks of some American Congressman on China-Georgia relations. Our friendship, cooperation and relations with Georgia are not part of any alliance or target of any third country. I do not think that Congressman Wilson represents the policy of the United States, and we are not interested in his remarks,” he said.

U.S. House of Representatives passed the Countering China’s Control of the Caucasus Act on June 8. It requires the Secretary of State, in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defence, to produce a classified report examining the extent of Russian and Chinese intelligence penetration and the intersection of their influence in Georgia.

Congressman Joe Wilson said that “the illegitimate Georgian Dream regime is currently in the process of selling the country to the Chinese Communist Party and war criminal Putin and Iran, which is against the will of the Georgian people and the interests of the United States.”
