Ambassador Degnan says it is difficult for Russia to have a neighbour with successful history

“It is difficult for Russia to have a neighbour whose history is successful,” said the US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan.

Ambassador Degnan noted that “this is the reason behind Russia’s attempts to undermine Georgia’s progress.”

“The United States has been cooperating with Georgia in many different directions for more than 30 years. During this time, we have seen an increase in public awareness of Russia’s destabilizing role,” said Ambassador.

Kelly Degnan added that “Georgia has made significant progress.”

“Progress is obvious. Georgia has made significant progress – health, education, security, economy, democratic development – this really is a success,” stressed Kelly Degnan.
