All Georgians evacuated from Kabul
Sixteen Georgian citizens remaining in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul are traveling back home, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili posted on Facebook.
Those individuals have been evacuated via a British charter flight, said Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, adding that the British plane will land in Dubai. However, they may return home via London later today due to coronavirus regulations.
A total of twenty-two Georgian citizens, all former soldiers who worked for Canadian and American companies, were in Kabul.
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said every Georgian is safely on the way home out of Kabul. She thanked Georgia’s partners who helped with their evacuation.
