Ahali's Parulava: We've seen GD join Ukraine Resolutions before; such regimes take these steps for manoeuvring
“We have already witnessed Georgian Dream joining resolutions related to Ukraine on previous occasions. What matters is every resolution aimed at protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and security,” stated Nika Parulava, a representative of the Ahali party.
According to him, governments or regimes like Georgian Dream often take such steps for manoeuvring purposes.
“What matters is every resolution aimed at protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and security. We have already seen similar types of steps from Georgian Dream, joining certain resolutions. The main thing to remember is this: governments or regimes of this type often take such steps to manoeuvre within the situation, to present themselves as pro-Western and supportive.
What we clearly and plainly see is that Georgian Dream is in a cold war with the West, with the United States of America, with whom a strategic partnership has not been reestablished and will not be reestablished until the situation is rectified, which is impossible whilst the regime has seized power and is in a cold war with Ukraine and the European Union, which is confirmed, among other things, by those so-called investigations that were conducted against the Ukrainian state,” declared Nika Parulava.
For context, the UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding that Russia return abducted Ukrainian children. Ninety-one countries, including Georgia, supported the resolution. Supporters of the resolution include the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland.
