“Our unified position to reject the illegitimate parliament proved decisive. This has brought down the regime, making it unrecognised abroad, stripped of legitimacy and politically toxic, whilst at home it has become despised, isolated, a social and political pariah,” Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Ahali party, wrote on social media.

According to Gvaramia, the moral superiority exerted by political prisoners has completely divested Georgian Dream of its capacity for rational action.

“Dear and admirable stalwarts, men and women of the opposition: our unified and unwavering position to reject the illegitimate parliament proved decisive. This has brought down the regime, rendering it unrecognised abroad, stripped of legitimacy, politically toxic, whilst at home it has become despised, isolated, a social and political pariah.

Dear and admirable political prisoners, captives of the regime: yes, the pressure of your moral superiority has broken the Georgian Dream and completely deprived them of any capacity for orientation or rational action!

Dear and admirable opposition, pro-Western parties: your complete disregard for the executioner’s vile scheme to ban parties, along with your dignified and rationally correct approach to the protests, denied the regime the opportunity to use you as stationary targets and destroy the protest through propagandist exploitation of your involvement. The regime still cannot identify a protest ‘leader’ (because there isn’t one), thus, it has been unable to diminish the protesters’ patriotic resolve and courage, even though it passes new repressive laws daily and sends dozens of people of all ages to prison!

Thanks to civil society, academia and, of course, the critical media.
Not quite there yet! The oligarchy must fall!
P.S. I’ll sabotage you, Georgian Dream,” Gvaramia wrote.

At today’s briefing at the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze announced that criminal proceedings have been initiated against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nikanor Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Nika Gvaramia is charged under Article 318, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to sabotage.
